CCNW Seeking Executive Director

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR for THE CONNECTICUT CENTER FOR NURSING WORKFORCE, INC.
Executive Director Position:
The Connecticut Center for Nursing Workforce, Inc, (CCNW) seeks a new Executive Director with responsibility for overseeing the administration, operations, programs, and communications of the CCNW.  Other key responsibilities include fundraising, public relations, and community outreach.  The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors through the Board Chair.  The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, excellent oral and written communication ability, strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently, a customer service orientation and a passion for CCNW’s strategic initiatives to build a robust nursing workforce for the 21st century, support the professional development of individual nurses and create the infrastructure needed to implement and sustain CCNW strategies.  This position is full-time at 40 hours per week with a salary commensurate with experience.  The Executive Director will be expected to attend all meetings of the Board of Directors and its Committees.  Working on some evenings and weekends will be required. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Board of Directors in implementing and executing CCNW’s multi-year strategic plan in furtherance of CCNW’s mission and to increase overall visibility of CCNW.
  2. Assist the Board of Directors in accomplishing annual goals for CCNW and its Committees.
  3. Provide oversight of the day-to-day management and operations of CCNW, including CCNW staff and volunteers.
  4. Assist CCNW in building a robust nursing workforce by growing the CT statewide database and infrastructure to promote placements, developing partnerships, facilitate nursing healthcare convenings, gathering data to strengthen advocacy and coalitions and enhancing excellence in education and nursing faculty.
  5. In partnership with CCNW Committees, develop and implement a CCNW multi-year calendar for educational programs, events, workforce summits and other activities in support of CCNW’s mission.
  6. Serve as a contact and develop relationships with outside groups and entities, including local and Connecticut State healthcare officials, local nursing educational institutions and faculty, media entities and other relevant non-profit organizations.
  7. Strengthen external communications using multiple channels, including social media, to increase awareness of and support attendance at CCNW educational programs, events, workforce summits and other related activities.
  8. Manage and ensure the current flow of information among CCNW Committees, the Board of Directors, and Board Chair.
  9. Establish employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for day-to-day operations of CCNW.
  10. Oversee organization of and attend all Board of Director and Committee meetings.
  11. With the Board of Directors, work to enhance and provide consistency in fundraising for CCNW through the cultivation and stewardship of existing and new individual and institutional donors.
  12. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Directors and Board Chair.
 
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  1. A Master’s degree in nursing, business, health or public health administration, or related field is required.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of management experience is required, with non-profit management experience preferred.
  3. Excellent organizational, administrative, operational, and financial skills.
  4. Excellent ability to work independently and multi-task.
  5. Excellent ability to cultivate and manage staff.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  7. Excellent human capital skills in developing a collegial working environment for Directors, CCNW staff, volunteers, and the public.
  8. Strong ability to advocate and promote the work of CCNW.
  9. Experience in raising funds and building relationships with donors.
  10. Proficient with IT software (Microsoft Office Suite programs).
  11. Familiarity with social media platforms.
  12. Familiarity with grant processes and management.
  13. Demonstrated passion for the Connecticut nursing workforce and healthcare community and working in the non-profit environment.
 
Terms of the Executive Director Position:
  1. 35/40 hours per week are required.
  2. In addition to the 40 hours, some weekends and nights are required to attend CCNW Board and Committee meetings and CCNW programs, workforce summits, events, and related activities.
  3. Flexible hybrid schedule both on-site and remote work.
  4. CCNW provides 11 paid-holidays and 21 days of annual leave per calendar year in addition to paid sick time.
  5. The salary range is $100,000 to $140,000 commensurate with experience.
