PLUS, NEW 2023 nursing education and workforce supply data will be highlighted:
  • Nursing Education data- Statistics on ALL Connecticut RN and LPN Pre-licensure Programs sharing: the education pipeline of prospective students, student seat capacity, student attrition and graduation rates, and demographic data of our full-time and part-time nurse faculty.
  • Nursing Supply data- Statistics on ALL Connecticut licensed RNs and LPNs including: the percentage of nurses actively working in bedside care roles, age, ethnicity, primary and secondary employment settings, and retirement projections of the existing workforce.
  • Findings can inform strategic decisions moving forward within the state, as well as, be the catalyst to engage education and practice institutions to partner in new innovative ways to not only address Connecticut’s current nursing shortage, but systematically impact the long-term imbalance of nurses which seems to materialize every 10 years within Connecticut, and exacerbated by COVID-19 which catapulted the issue of nursing workforce to the tipping point!

Audience:

  • State Healthcare Trade Associations
  • Workforce Investment Boards
