Background Checks & Drug Screenings
Required for Nursing and Allied Health Students to Engage in Clinical Experiences
Due to the requirements of many Clinical Sites in Connecticut, nursing and allied health students are required to have completed a Background Check and/or Drug Screen PRIOR to beginning a Clinical/Internship Experience. For over 10 years, Nursing and Allied Health Programs have successfully partnered with the Connecticut Center for Nursing Workforce, Inc. (CCNW) to seamlessly coordinate these screening services for enrolled students. The processing of the Background Check for Clinical/Internship Experience will be conducted by Employers Reference Source, Inc. (ERS) and the 12-Panel Drug Screen will be processed by Quest Laboratories in Connecticut. The following state and national databases are utilized to process the student Background Check:
