CCNW is proud to launch the “I Am a CT Nurse” campaign to recognize and celebrate the highly skilled nurses serving Connecticut communities every day. We invite all CT nurses to submit a short, 45–60 second video sharing their name, school, license, and what they love most about being a CT nurse. By participating, you’ll help shine a spotlight on the dedication, compassion, and expertise that define our state’s nursing profession.

Thank you for participating in the CCNW “I Am a CT Nurse” Campaign! We’re excited to highlight Connecticut Nurses from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Please follow the guidelines below to submit your video successfully.

How to Submit Your Video for the CCNW “I Am a CT Nurse” Campaign

Video Length and Content

• Video Length
  • Aim for 45-60 seconds total.
  • Keep your message concise and focused to stay within the time limit.
• Required Prompts
  • Name (e.g., “Hi, I’m Tina Loarte-Rodriguez.”)
  • School (e.g., “I graduated from the University of Connecticut and Quinnipiac University.”)
  • License (e.g., “I am a Registered Nurse.”)
  • What You Love About Being a CT Nurse (e.g., “I love .”)
• Suggested Structure
  • Introduction (Name, School, License)
  • Your Passion (What you love about being a CT Nurse)
  • Closing (A quick thanks or sign-off, e.g., “Thank you, CCNW, for letting me share my story!”)

Recording Tips

• Lighting
  • Record in a well-lit area, facing a light source (e.g., window or lamp) so your face is clearly visible.
  • Avoid strong backlight that creates shadows.
• Sound Quality
  • Record in a quiet environment to minimize background noise.
  • Speak clearly and at a moderate pace so your voice is easy to understand.
• Framing
  • Position the camera at eye level, framing your face and shoulders.
  • Keep the background neat and uncluttered.
• Dress Professionally
  • Wear something that reflects your nursing profession (e.g., scrubs, a neat top).
• Energy and Authenticity
  • Show enthusiasm and genuine passion. Smile and speak from the heart!

Technical Details

• File Format: MP4
• Orientation
  • Record in horizontal (landscape) orientation if possible.
  • However, vertical (portrait) orientation is also acceptable if that’s more convenient.
• File Size
  • Try to keep your video file size reasonable (under 100MB if possible).

Submission Instructions

• Save/Name Your Video File
  • Use a clear file name, such as:

    (e.g., SarahJohnson_CCNWCTNurse.mp4)
• Upload Method
  • [Insert specific upload instructions or link here, e.g., a Google Drive folder or CCNW submission form.]
  • Follow any login or permission instructions provided.
• Confirmation
  • Once uploaded, you may receive a confirmation email or message.
  • If you don’t receive a confirmation within a few days, reach out to Peggy Mallick
