Urgently Hiring Clinical Faculty: $2,000 (FT) / $1,500 (PT) Sign-On Bonus!

Porter and Chester Institute is currently seeking Nursing instructors for immediate placement to cover clinical instruction. With campuses in Enfield, Hamden, Rocky Hill, Bridgeport, and Waterbury, clinical sites are located throughout the state to facilitate convenient instructor placement. Candidates must be flexible with classroom and clinical instruction for future needs. Our Nursing Instructors are responsible for providing quality instruction to students through well prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair assessment of learning, clear documentation of student progress, and support of the academic success for all students. No teaching experience required. Training will be provided.

Position Requirements:
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including a COVID-19 Booster Shot as required by February 11, 2022
  • Current valid Registered Nursing (RN) license in the State of Connecticut
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience as LPN or RN required, recent experience preferred
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) and willing to pursue Master's Degree in Nursing or related field; or currently hold an MSN or Master's in related field with BSN required
  • Ability to use common software programs (MS Word/Excel/Outlook etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Great interpersonal skills

​The infection preventionist will collaborate with the Medical Director on the Antimicrobial Stewardship program and will be accountable for decreasing the incidence and transmission of infectious diseases between patients, residents, staff and visitors. Through strategic planning, leadership and consultation the infection preventionist will lead the nursing team in the identification and implementation of infection prevention goals and objectives throughout the facility.
In the Staff Development role this employee is responsible for the staff development and educational needs of the Duncaster campus across the continuum.  The position assesses the educational needs of the staff and plans, develops, and implements training programs to meet those needs.  Reporting to the VP of Health Services, this leader works with the Director of Nursing at Caleb Hitchcock Health Center and Director of Assisted Living to assess the educational needs of the health services and support staff.  The position is responsible for ensuring residents and patients receive care from health service staff that is oriented, trained and educated to perform their duties in compliance with the Public Health Code and Duncaster policies.
